Documentation Portal
The Documentation page is DocLock's built-in help library. It gathers guides, references, and tutorials into browsable categories and a list of popular articles, so you can look up how a feature works without leaving the app.

How to open this page
From the left navigation menu, open Help & Support → Documentation.
- Address:
/help/documentation - Access required: Any signed-in user. This page has no special permission, so it appears for everyone who can log in.
What you see on this page
The page has three parts, from top to bottom:
- Search box — a single field for searching the documentation by keyword.
- Category cards — a grid of topic areas, each showing how many articles it contains.
- Popular Articles — a list of the most-viewed help articles.
Searching the documentation
At the top of the page is a search box labelled Search documentation….
- Click into the box.
- Type a keyword — for example
upload,workflow, orretention.
Good to know: In this release the search box is part of the help library's interface but does not yet filter the category cards or article list. Use the categories and Popular Articles list below to find what you need.
Browsing by category
Below the search box is a grid of category cards. Each card shows a colored icon, the topic title, a one-line description, and an articles count chip (for example 28 articles).
The available categories are:
| Category | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Getting Started | Quick setup, first login, workspace overview. |
| Document Management | Upload, organize, version control, and metadata. |
| Workflows | Build approval flows, escalations, and automations. |
| User & Role Management | Add users, assign roles, and control permissions. |
| Governance & Compliance | Retention policies, legal holds, and audit logs. |
| Reports & Insights | Build reports, schedule exports, and read dashboards. |
| System Administration | Integrations, email templates, and global settings. |
| API & Integrations | REST API reference, webhooks, and third-party connectors. |
| FAQs & Troubleshooting | Common issues, error codes, and quick fixes. |
Hovering a card highlights it to show it is selectable. The cards group the same subjects covered in this user guide, so they are a quick way to find the area you need.
Reading popular articles
At the bottom of the page, the Popular Articles panel lists frequently read help topics. Each row shows:
- An icon for the topic.
- The article title.
- The category it belongs to and when it was last updated.
- A view count showing how many times the article has been opened.
Examples in the list include How to upload and tag documents in bulk, Setting up an approval workflow from scratch, and Understanding workspace roles vs system roles.
Tips
- Use the category cards as a map: pick the area closest to your task, then look for matching topics in this guide.
- The Popular Articles list is a good place to start if you are new — it surfaces the questions other users ask most often.
- For step-by-step help on a specific screen, this DocLock user guide mirrors the same categories (Document Management, Workflows, Governance, and so on).
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| The Documentation menu item isn't visible | Make sure you are signed in. The page itself needs no special permission. |
| Typing in the search box doesn't filter results | Search filtering is not active in this release — browse the categories and Popular Articles list instead. |
| Clicking a category or article doesn't open a full article | The library shows the catalog of topics; for detailed steps, use this user guide or Contact Support. |
| You can't find your topic | Try the Contact Support page to ask the support team directly. |
