Workspaces & Vaults

A workspace is a scoped collection of documents with its own members, activity, tags, and permissions — think of it as a team's room for its files. DocLock also gives you a private Personal Vault, a company-wide Global Resources area, and a sealed Official Records store. This section explains each of them and how to work inside them.

How the pieces fit together

  • Team workspaces (like HR, Finance, Legal) hold each team's working documents. You see one because you're a member — see My Workspaces.
  • What you can do inside any workspace depends on your role — see Workspace Roles.
  • Global Resources is a public, read-only workspace shared with everyone in the company.
  • Personal Vault is private to you, protected by a password gate — see Personal Vault.
  • Official Records is where finalized, signed documents are sealed and kept with full audit trails — see Official Records.
