Document Explorer

The Document Explorer is where you find, open, and manage documents in DocLock. It groups together the everyday document screens — your full library, recent files, advanced search, and the trash — plus the per-document tools for favorites and sharing.

Document Explorer overview

Getting here

Open Document Explorer from the left navigation menu, then choose a screen. Each screen has its own permission, so the items you see depend on your role.

What's in this section

PageWhat it's forRoutePermission
All DocumentsThe main library — browse, filter, upload, and organize documents.documents/allDOCUMENTS.VIEW
Document DetailsThe full record for one document: preview, versions, activity, and more.documents/:idDOCUMENTS.VIEW
Advanced SearchFind documents across workspaces by metadata, tags, attributes, and content.documents/searchDOCUMENTS.SEARCH
Recent DocumentsQuick access to files you've recently edited or viewed.documents/recentDOCUMENTS.VIEW
TrashRestore deleted items or remove them permanently (30-day retention).documents/trashDOCUMENTS.TRASH
FavoritesStar documents for your own quick access (a flag, not a separate screen).DOCUMENTS.VIEW
Shared With MeHow documents are shared with you, per document (no standalone screen).DOCUMENTS.VIEW

Note: Favorites and Shared With Me don't have their own routes in the application. Favorites are the star you set on rows in any document list, and sharing is done from each document's Share dialog. The pages above explain how they work.

A typical flow

  1. Start in All Documents to browse or upload.
  2. Can't find something quickly? Switch to Advanced Search.
  3. Open a file to its Document Details to review versions, activity, and permissions.
  4. Star the files you use often so they're easy to spot — see Favorites.
  5. Deleted something by mistake? Recover it from Trash within 30 days.
