System Requirements

DocLock is a web application — it runs entirely in your web browser. There's no desktop program to install, no license key to type in on your computer, and no special hardware to buy. If you can open a modern website, you can run DocLock.

Running DocLock in a browser

What you need

  • A modern web browser (kept reasonably up to date).
  • The DocLock web address (URL) for your organization — provided by your administrator.
  • Your sign-in credentials (username/email and password).
  • An internet or network connection to reach the DocLock address.

That's it. The application's logic, document storage, and screens are delivered to your browser when you open the site.

Supported browsers

DocLock is built with current web standards and works in the latest versions of the major browsers:

BrowserNotes
Google ChromeRecommended; latest version.
Microsoft EdgeLatest version.
Mozilla FirefoxLatest version.
Apple SafariRecent version on macOS.

Tip: Keep your browser updated. Very old browsers may not display some screens correctly.

Display and connectivity

  • Screen size: DocLock is designed for desktop and laptop screens. It adapts to smaller windows, but document-heavy screens (like the workspace and document detail views) are most comfortable on a reasonably sized display.
  • Network: A stable connection gives the smoothest experience, especially when uploading or opening larger documents.

What you do not need

  • ❌ No installer or setup program on your computer.
  • ❌ No product key or activation code entered on your machine.
  • ❌ No minimum CPU/RAM specs beyond what your browser already needs.
  • ❌ No plugins or browser extensions.

Note: In this build, DocLock uses a mock API with local browser storage for its data, so your session data is kept by the app rather than requiring you to configure a database or server.
